US stocks move lower in midday trading, as does the price of oil; Weight Watchers slides

Stock prices are moving lower as the market gives back some of its big gains from the day before.

Weight Watchers sank 3 percent Tuesday after Credit Suisse downgraded its rating on the stock, saying the company faces tough competition from low-cost weight loss applications.

The Dow Jones industrial average was down 165 points, or 0.9 percent, to 17,810 as of 11:45 a.m. Eastern time. The Dow jumped 228 the day before.

The Standard & Poor's 500 fell 13 points, or 0.6 percent, to 2,067. The Nasdaq composite lost 14 points, or 0.3 percent, to 4,915.

The price of oil fell a day after hitting a six-year low. U.S. crude was down 55 cents at $43.31.

Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 2.06 percent.
