US stock market ends flat after a listless day; Traders monitor Greece debt meeting
Stocks indexes are closing essentially flat after a quiet day of trading.
Energy stocks fell Wednesday after the price of oil took another tumble.
Traders were watching a meeting of European finance ministers where Greece was seeking more favorable terms for its rescue loans.
The Dow Jones industrial average edged down six points, less than 0.1 percent, to 17,862.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index was little changed from the day before at 2,068. The Nasdaq composite rose 13 points, or 0.3 percent, to 4,801.
The price of oil fell $1.18 to $48.84 a barrel in New York. Oil has lost more than half its value since last June as supplies increase and demand weakens.
PepsiCo rose 2.5 percent after reporting earnings that were better than analysts were expecting.
