United Parcel Service Beats On Profit, Misses On Revenue

United Parcel Service beat first-quarter profit expectations Thursday, but missed on revenue. The company reported net income of $1.13 billion, or $1.27 per share, up from $1.03 billion, or $1.12 per share, in the year-earlier period. The FactSet consensus was for earnings per share of $1.22. Revenue was $14.42 billion, up from $13.98 billion, but below the FactSet consensus of $14.56 billion. The company reaffirmed its 2016 guidance of earnings per share of $5.70 to $5.90. The FactSet consensus is for earnings per share of $5.78. Shares of United Parcel Service were up less than 1% in premarket trade.
