United Natural Foods Inc. Shares Fall 5% On Earnings Miss

United Natural Foods Inc. reported late Monday its fiscal third-quarter profit rose to $41.8 million, or 83 cents a share, from $36.4 million, or 73 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the three months ended May 2 rose nearly 19% to $2.11 billion from $1.78 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had expected the natural and organic-foods distributor to earn 85 cents a share on $2.14 billion in sales. United Foods shares fell 5.5% on the report in after-hours trade.
