United flight from Alaska to Chicago lands in Fargo after woman suffers medical emergency

A United Airlines jet flying from Anchorage, Alaska, to Chicago made an unscheduled landing at Fargo's Hector International Airport early Monday after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.

Police tell KFGO radio (http://bit.ly/1BoEiVb ) that paramedics met the plane when it landed about 3:30 a.m. and took a woman from the plane to a hospital. Information on the nature of her medical emergency was not immediately available.

Airport Manager Shawn Dobberstein says the plane was unable to continue to Chicago because all of its onboard medical oxygen had been used to treat the woman. More than 150 passengers were stranded for hours while they waited for another United plane sent to pick them up.
