Uber Launches On-demand Helicopter Rides In Shanghai

Uber Technology Inc. plans to launch a helicopter-ride service in Shanghai on Saturday, looking for a bigger slice of China's highly competitive ride-hailing sector. A 30-minute chopper ride will cost 2,999 yuan ($480) a person, Uber said in a post on Weibo. The on-demand service, provided with Shanghai-based partner KaiJet Aviation, includes pick-up by an Uber driver who will take them to the helipad. Riders get a sky tour of Shanghai sights. The company has offered similar services in cities worldwide, such as New York, Cape Town and Mumbai.
