U.S. Weekly Oil, Natural-gas Rig Count Down 11: Baker Hughes

Baker Hughes on Friday reported that the number of U.S. rigs actively drilling for oil and natural gas as of May 8 fell 11 rigs from last week to 894. The count is down 961 rigs from last year. The number of oil rigs fell 11 for the week to 668. June oil was last at $59.23, up 29 cents, or 0.5%, on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It was trading around $59.14 right before the report was released.
