U.S. Stocks Open Slightly Lower, Eye Solid Weekly Gains

U.S. stocks opened marginally lower but the main indexes were on track finish with sizable gains for the holiday-shortened week. Trading on Wall Street is expected to be subdued as U.S. stock exchanges will close earlier than usual, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. All three main benchmark were set to book gains of more than 2% for the week.
