U.S. stocks opened marginally higher on Monday, as investors focused on comments from several Federal Reserve officials and waited for home-sales figures. The relative calm on Wall Street follows a turbulent week during which stocks posted their biggest weekly gains since early February. The S&P 500 opened less than a point higher at 2,109. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 15 points, or 0.1%, to 18,150. The Nasdaq Composite began the day off by 6 points, or 0.1%, at 5,020.
