U.S. Stocks Open Lower Amid Rate-hike Worries
U.S. stocks opened slightly lower on Thursday as investors grappled with comments from Federal Reserve officials about possibility of raising interest rates this year. The S&P 500 opened 2 points, or 0.1%, lower at 2,121. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 57 points, or 0.3%, to 18,105. The Nasdaq Composite began the session down 4 points, or 0.1%, at 5,102, retreating slightly from the record level reached on Wednesday.
