U.S. Stocks Open Higher; S&P 500 Flirts With Record

U.S. stocks opened modestly higher on Monday, with the S&P 500 inching closer to the record set last month. The S&P 500 opened 6 points, or 0.3%, higher at 2,114.90, only a few points from the all-time high. The Nasdaq Composite added 21 points, or 0.4%, higher at 5,027. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 70 points, or 0.4%, to 18,086.
