U.S. Stocks Open Higher, On Track For Third Day Of Gains

U.S. stocks opened higher Wednesday with the main indexes on track for a third straight session of gains. Nike shares jumped after earnings topped estimates, while Bed Bath and Beyond shares slid after cutting its guidance for the latest quarter. The S&P 500 opened 12 points or 0.6%, higher at 2,051. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 135 points, or 0.8%, to 17,549. The Nasdaq Composite began the day up 27 points or 0.6%, at 5,028.
