U.S. Stocks Open Higher For Second Session In a Row

U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Tuesday, following rising global equities. Investors assessed upbeat earnings report from retailers such as TJX Companies and Wal-Mart Stores and a pair of mixed economic reports. Consumer prices rose for the first time in three months, while industrial production fell in October. The S&P 500 opened 1 point or less than 0.1%, higher at 2,053. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 20 points, or 0.1%, to 17,505. The Nasdaq Composite began the day up 3 points, or 0.1%, at 4,987.
