U.S. Stocks Open Higher, Eye Weekly Gains

U.S. stocks advanced in early trade on Friday with the main indexes on track to record solid weekly gains. The S&P 500 opened 8 points, or 0.4%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 92 points, or 0.5%, to 17,824. The Nasdaq Composite began the day up 22 points, or 0.4%, at 5,095. All three main indexes were on track to end week more than 3% higher.
