U.S. Stocks Open Higher, Eye Strong Weekly Gains
U.S. stocks rose at the open Friday, rebounding from the prior day's losses and staying on track for solid weekly gains. The S&P 500 was up 10 points, or 0.5%, to 2,100, putting the benchmark on pace for a weekly rise of 2.3%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 99 points, or nearly 0.6%, to 18,058. It's eyeing a weekly gain of 1.8%. Stocks could see increased volatility and higher trading volume Friday due to quadruple witching, which means that equity options, stock-index futures, stock-index options, and single-stock futures expire.
