U.S. Stocks Open Higher, Extend Fed-fueled Rally
U.S. stocks opened higher on Thursday, putting the main indexes on pace to register a fourth session of gains less than 24 hours after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by a quarter percent. The main indexes rallied in the wake of the highly anticipated move, with analysts saying the market interpreted it as a vote of confidence in the U.S. economy. The S&P 500 opened 3 points or 0.2% higher at 2,075. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 26 points or 0.1% to 17,774. The Nasdaq Composite began the day up 14 points or 0.3%, at 5,085.
