U.S. Stocks Open Higher; Energy Companies Under Pressure

U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Tuesday, as investors brushed off global growth worries and falling commodity prices. Energy stocks were under pressure, tracking oil prices closely. Carmakers will be in the spotlight as monthly sales figures are released. The S&P 500 opened 4 points, or 0.2%, higher at 2,058. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 37 points, or 0.2%, to 17,815. The Nasdaq Composite began the day up 13 points, or 0.3% at 4,740.
