U.S. Stocks Open Higher Buoyed By Global Gains

U.S. stocks opened higher on Monday, building on solid gains from the previous session when the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average staged their biggest reversals in four years. Big gains in European and Asian markets helped boost sentiment. The S&P 500 opened 15 points, or 0.8%, higher at 1,966. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 114 points, or 0.6%, to 16,585 at the open. The Nasdaq Composite began the day up 35 points, or 0.8%, at 4,743.
