U.S. Stocks Open Higher After Data, Earnings
U.S. stocks edged higher on Tuesday as investors assessed a batch of mixed earnings and softer-than-expected economic data. Monthly retail sales rebounded in March, but by less than expected, while producer prices also came in below forecasts. The S&P 500 opened 4 points, or 0.2%, higher at 2,096. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 47 points, or 0.3%, to 18,2. The Nasdaq Composite began the session up 6 points, or 0.1%, to 4,995.64.
