U.S. Stocks Open Higher After Claims, Earnings
U.S. stocks opened higher on Thursday as investors assessed weekly jobless claims and earnings reports from companies such as Alcoa. The S&P 500 opened up 6 points, or 0.3%, to 2,088. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 58 points, or 0.3%, to 17,962. The Nasdaq Composite began the session up 20 points, or 0.4%, to 4,969.
