U.S. Stocks Move Lower; Energy Stocks Drop Sharply
U.S. stocks retreated on Monday, pausing after a big rally last week. Weak data from Germany was weighing on sentiment ahead of the market open. Investors await data on housing and manufacturing this morning. The S&P 500 fell 6 points, or 0.3%, to 1,958.07, led by deep losses in energy sector stocks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 47 points, or 0.3%, to 16,747.78. The Nasdaq Composite began the day down 15 points, or 0.4%, to 4,468.40.
