U.S. Stocks Hold Gains After Historic Federal Reserve Interest-rate Hike

U.S. stocks held modest gains after the Federal Reserve raised its key interest rate for the first time in nearly a decade. The central bank increased its key borrowing rate by 25 basis points, in a move that was widely expected. The S&P 500 was up 5 points or 0.2% to 2,049. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was 36 points or 0.2% to 17,575. The Nasdaq Composite added 23 points or 0.3%, to 5,021.
