U.S. Stocks Finish Lower; Dow Drops For Sixth Straight Day

U.S. stocks ended lower after paring some of Thursday's declines in a volatile trading session as media company stocks took a big hit and investors cautiously awaited Friday's jobs report. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 120.72 points, or 0.7%, to finish at 17,419.75, for its sixth straight loss, a streak unseen since October 2014. The index was down as many as 178 points during the session, The S&P 500 Index shed 16.28 points, or 0.8%, to close at 2,083.56, bouncing back from a 25-point loss. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 83.50 points, or 1.6%, to finish at 5,056.44, after being down as many as 105 points on the day.
