U.S. Stocks Finish Higher As Oil Stabilizes

U.S. stocks finished higher Wednesday as oil prices stabilized. The Dow industrials gained 33.48 points, or 0.2%, to 16,898.56. The S&P 500 added 8.03 cents, or 0.4%, to 1,986.38, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 13.83 points, or 0.3%, to 4,703.42. Chesapeake Energy Corp was the leading stock on the S&P, up 67 cents, or 24%, to $3.42. Monsanto Co. was the largest decliner, shedding $7.35, or 7.9%, to $85.22.
