U.S. Stocks End Flat Ahead Of Jobs Report

U.S. stocks finished Thursday mostly unchanged as investors appeared reluctant to make big bets a day ahead of the closely watched monthly jobs report. Early modest gains following a rate cut by the Bank of England petered out by the close. The benchmark S&P 500 index closed virtually unchanged at 2,164.27. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended flat at 18,352.19. Meanwhile the Nasdaq Composite Index ended the session up 6.51 points, or 0.1%, at 5,166.25.
