U.S. Stocks End Choppy Session Lower As Greece Worries Linger
U.S. stocks ended Monday's choppy session with modest losses as the mood on Wall Street remained jittery in the wake of disappointing trade data from China and Greek debt drama. Higher oil prices initially provided a lift to energy stocks, but those gains soon fizzled out, while risk-aversion was evident from rallying government bonds and gold. The S&P 500 closed 8.75 points, or 0.4%, lower at 2,046.72. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 95.08 points, or 0.5%, to 17,729.21. The Nasdaq Composite ended the day down 18.39 points, or 0.4%, to 4,726.01.
