U.S. Stocks Eke Out Gains; Close At Record Highs
U.S. stocks eked out marginal gains on Friday, ending the third straight week with gains. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at record highs for the third consecutive day. Investors' reaction to the latest employment data, showing 214,000 new jobs were added last month was mostly muted, however. The S&P 500 closed fractionally higher at 2,031.92 and finished the week up 0.7%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 19.46 to 17,573.93 and gained 1% over the week. The Nasdaq Composite closed down 5.94 points, or 0.1%, at 4,632.53 and finished the week roughly where it started it.
