U.S. Stocks Close Higher After Upbeat Earnings

U.S. stocks ended Monday's session higher, recouping most of the losses from the previous session. The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded their best one-day gain in three weeks, as better-than-expected earnings reports from companies such as Hasbro, Inc. and Halliburton Corp. helped lift the markets. The S&P 500 closed 19.22 points, or 0.9%, higher at 2,100.40, with the technology sector leading the gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 208.63 points, or 1.2%, to 18,034.93. The Nasdaq Composite ended the session up 62.79 points, or 1.3%, to 4,994.60.
