U.S. Stocks Advance For Second Session

U.S. stocks closed higher for a second straight session. The main benchmark index finished near session highs with gains across the board, while a rally in energy and materials stocks led the gains. The S&P 500 closed 17.90 points or 0.9%, higher at 2,039.03. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 165.72 points, or 1%, to 17,417.34. The Nasdaq Composite ended the day up 32.19 points or 0.7%, at 5,001.11.
