U.S. Stock Futures Point Higher

U.S. stock-index futures were quoted higher in electronic trade late Thursday, suggesting a higher start Friday for Wall Street. About 12 hours ahead of the open, futures for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were quoted at levels implying a 0.2% gain for each. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 pointed to a 0.3% advance. In holiday-shortened trading on Wednesday ahead of the Christmas holiday, the Dow industrials and S&P 500 both finished almost flat, while the Nasdaq Composite closed with a 0.2% gain.
