U.S. Stock Finish Slightly Higher After Fed Minutes

U.S. stocks closed slightly higher Wednesday after investors digested the Fed's mid-March meeting minutes against recent weak economic data. Stocks were volatile after the release of the minutes, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 Index venturing back and forth between gains and losses. The Dow closed up 27.09 points, or 0.2%, at 17,902.51. The S&P 500 Index finished up 5.57 points, or 0.3%, at 2,081.90. The Nasdaq Composite Index , which remained in positive territory after the Fed minutes, closed up 40.59 points, or 0.8%, at 4,950.82.
