U.S. Slaps New Sanctions On North Korea Following Sony Hack
The Obama administration has slapped new sanctions on the government of North Korea following the recent cyberattack on Sony Pictures Entertainment . The Treasury Department sanctioned the government-controlled Korea Mining Development Trading Corp. and two other entities, as well as 10 individuals who it said were officials of the North Korean government. A White House spokesman said the sanctions were a response to North Korea's "provocative, destabilizing, and repressive actions and policies, particularly its destructive and coercive cyber attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment."
