U.S. Manufacturers Grew In June At Fastest Rate In Five Months: ISM

U.S. manufacturers grew in June at the fastest rate since the start of 2015, a survey of executives found. The Institute for Supply Management said its manufacturing index rose to 53.5% last month from 52.8% in May, matching its highest level of this year. The index was also above the 53.2 forecast of economists surveyed by MarketWatch. Readings over 50% indicate more companies are expanding instead of shrinking. The employment gauge jumped 3.8 points to 55.5%. The ISM's new-orders index edged up to 56.0% from 55.8%.
