U.S. Job Openings Rise In January, Stand At 14-year High
Job openings in the United States rose 2.4% to 5 million in January and stood at a 14-year high, the government reported Tuesday. The number of people hired fell slightly to 5 milllion, the Labor Department said. So-called separations - layoffs, people fired, workers who quit - dipped to 4.82 million from 4.90 million.
