U.S. Investor Optimism Hits Highest Level In 2014
Individual investors have grown increasingly bullish over the past several weeks, with optimism level hitting the highest level for 2014, according to American Association of Individual Investors latest sentiment survey. Among surveyed investors, 52.7% are bullish, compared to a historical average of 39%. Bullish sentiment or expectations that the stock market will rise over the next six months, rose for the fifth straight week and for the past three months stayed above historical average. Bearish sentiment is at the lowest level since July 2005. AAII says at current levels, optimism is unusually high and pessimism is unusually low.
