Two New York Police Reportedly Shot

Two New York Police Department officers were shot Monday night in the Bronx, NBC's local affiliate reported on its website, citing the Fire Department. The officers were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and were expected to survive, the report said. The incident took place shortly after 10:30 p.m. at East 184th Street in the borough's Tremont section, the report said. No further details were immediately available. The incident followed the fatal shootings of two New York police officers in an ambush last month, with the gunman subsequently committing suicide.
