Trailer dripping rancid chicken juice after driver abandons load at Montana truck stop

Law enforcement officers are searching for a former employee of an Idaho trucking company suspected of abandoning a trailer full of frozen chicken at a western Montana truck stop and taking the company's Volvo tractor.

The trailer, dripping rancid juices from thousands of pounds of rotting chicken, sat in the heat attracting flies Thursday at the Flying J Truck Stop west of Missoula, where it was noticed on Tuesday.

Nampa Police Sgt. Joe Ramirez says 42-year-old Christopher L. Hall picked up the trailer containing 37,000 pounds of chicken in Springdale, Arkansas, on Aug. 20 and was supposed to deliver it to Kent, Washington, the next day. The truck may have been left on Aug. 21.

Hall is described as 6 feet, 1 inches tall, 240 pounds with brown hair and eyes. The $160,000 tractor is light blue and had Dixie River Freight Inc. on the door.
