Target flashes new focus on health, hands out 300k Fitbits to workers, healthier snacks

Target is handing out free Fitbit activity trackers to its more than 300,000 employees as the retailer tries to portray itself as a healthier place for both customers and workers.

The deal is one of Fitbit Inc.'s largest corporate accounts, according to Jodee Kozlak, Target's chief human resources officer.

Executives said that Target Corp. will be offering discounts on fruits and vegetables to its employees and next year, and that it will also be putting healthier grab-and-go snacks near cash registers and downplaying snacks that are high in fat and sugar.
