Symantec Earnings Top Estimates; Revenue Slips

Symantec Corp. Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $332 million vs. $359 million a year earlier on revenue of $1.62 billion vs. $1.64 billion a year ago. The security software company reported non-GAAP earnings per share of 48 cents. Analysts had expected the company to make 42 cents a share, on revenue of $1.625 billion. For the fiscal third quarter the company projected earnings of 31 cents a share to 34 cents a share on revenue of $1.65 billion to $1.69 billion.
