SunPower Pushes Yieldco Decision For Next Year

SunPower Corp. executives have postponed a decision about forming a "yieldco," a subsidiary that holds power projects and is publicly traded, till 2015. SunPower will update Wall Street about its yieldco plans at its investor day next month, but it does not expect to make "a definitive decision until early next year," Chief Financial Officer Charles Boynton said during an earnings call Wednesday, according to a transcript provided by FactSet. Earlier Wednesday, SunPower reported third-quarter earnings that beat expectations, but forecast weaker fourth-quarter results. SunPower shares were recently down 2.9%.
