Suicide Bomber In Central Istanbul Kills Police Officer, Self
A suicide bomber killed one police officer and injured a second in Istanbul Tuesday, according to press reports. Istanbul's governor said the suicide bomber, a woman, had entered a police station near the Blue Mosque in the middle of the city's tourist district on the pretext of reporting a missing wallet and spoke in English, before blowing herself up. She was not immediately identified. Turkish media said one of the police officers had died. The other police officer was lightly injured. It was the second attack in a week on police in Istanbul. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the latest attack.
