Stocks Erase Big Gains, Turn Negative Ahead Of Close
The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average both erased large gains scored earlier in the session on Tuesday to test negative territory ahead of the closing bell. The Dow is down 58 points, or 0.4%, at 15,825, while the S&P 500 is off 8 points, or 0.4%, at 1,886. Earlier, the Dow had rallied by more than 400 points as stocks attempted to rebound from a five-day plunge.
