Stocks End Little Changed, As Intraday Daily Records For Nasdaq, S&P 500 Fade

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite set fresh intraday records, but retreated to close virtually unchanged on Monday. The main indexes rose to records last week in the lead-up to French election, but the widely anticipated victory by Emmanuel Macron resulted in global equities retreating after the results. The S&P 500 closed unchanged at 2,399.37. The Nasdaq Composite closed 1.9 points, or less than 0.1%, higher at 6,102.66. Apple Inc. touched a fresh record of its own, after rallying nearly 3% and eclipsing a market value of $800 billion for the first time. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the session up 5 points at 21,011.94.
