Stericycle Tops S&P 500 Losers On Weak Quarterly Results

Shares of Stericycle Inc. sank on Friday to top S&P 500 decliners after the medical waste management company reported disappointing quarterly earnings. Stericycle said late Thursday its third-quarter earnings per share slumped to 47 cents from 96 cents a year ago. On an adjusted basis, it would have earned $1.08 a share, below the $1.18 a share forecast by analysts in a FactSet survey. Revenue rose 7.6% to $718.6 million but undershot the $735 million expected by Wall Street. Stericycle shares stumbled 21% to $118.46.
