State Attorneys General Coalition To Investigate Herbal Supplements
A coalition of state attorneys chaired by New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman will continue to investigate the herbal supplement industry, according to a statement released on Tuesday. The coalition is made up of Schneiderman and the attorneys general from Connecticut, Indiana and Puerto Rico. The group came together following an investigation by the New York State Attorney general which found contaminants and unlabeled plant species in store brand herbal supplements at GNC Holdings Inc., Target Corp., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. "Clearly, the questions we raised about the herbal supplements sold in New York resonate outside of our borders," Scheiderman said.
