Starbucks Expands Mobile Order-ahead And Pay Service

Starbucks Corp. is expanding its call-ahead mobile order and pay service to the Pacific Northwest. The feature, which allows customers to order and pay for an order before they get to the caf� using the Starbucks mobile app, was first tested in Portland. The coffee company on Tuesday said it now plans to expand the service for iPhone users to roughly 650 locations in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Alaska. Starbucks said it is expects to see improvements in service speed with the app, which it hopes will help drive incremental transactions. The company will gradually roll out the program nationally through 2015. Shares of Starbucks fell 0.3% in premarket trade.
