Star Networks USA recalling all Magnicube Spheres, Magnicube Cubes for ingestion hazard

Star Networks USA LLC is recalling all Magnicube Spheres and Magnicube Cubes magnetic sets because of the possibility for injury from swallowing the small, powerful magnets.

The recall is part of the settlement of an administrative case filed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in December 2012. The case sought a mandatory recall of the Magnicube products.

The CPSC said that since 2009, it has received numerous incident reports of ingestions involving small, high-powered magnets, including many that required surgery.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the products.

Star has agreed to provide a full refund to customers who return a full set of Magnicube Cubes or Magnicube Spheres. Those who return a partial set will receive a refund prorated based on the percentage of magnets returned.
