St. Louis Cardinal Oscar Taveras Dead At Age 22
Popular U.S. baseball player Oscar Taveras died in a car accident Sunday in his native Dominican Republic, reports said. Taveras, a St. Louis Cardinals outfielder whom USA Today described as "one of the top prospects of the past several seasons," was 22 years old. Taveras' girlfriend also died in the crash, USA Today said, citing police in Puerto Plata, near where the accident took place.
