S&P Stocks Hitting New Highs
More than 10% of all S&P 500 stocks hit all-time highs today after the Fed announced its decision to slow its monthly bond purchases.
At the close of trading today, 50 stocks in the S&P 500 (INDEXSP:GSPC) - more than 10% of the benchmark index - finished at all-time highs. Consumer stocks, financial, and industrial names accounted for the bulk of today's new highs. Clearly investors are psyched about a modest taper beginning next month and an indefinite period of zero-percent interest rate policy:
