S&P 500 Snaps 4-day Run
The U.S. stock market rocked back and forth in the wake of the latest minutes from the last month's meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, but closed marginally lower on Wednesday. After the initial positive jolt, market reaction was muted, as Fed minutes revealed nothing new. There was no additional clarity about when interest rates would be hiked, as is expected next year. The S&P 500 closed 3.1 points lower at 2,048.72. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 2.1 points to 17,685.73. The Nasdaq Composite finished down 26.73 points, or 0.6%, at 4,675.71.
